Maharaja Bir Bikram University

Maharaja Bir Bikram University (MBB University) in Agartala, Tripura was established in 2015 by the Government of Tripura through the Maharaja Bir Bikram University Act, 2015 and was the first, and as of 2017 the only state university in the state of Tripura. The university is named after Bir Bikram Kishore Debbarman, the last ruling maharaja of the princely state of Tripura. The main objective of the University is to disseminate and advance knowledge by providing instructional and research facilities in such branches of learning as it may deem fit and by the example of its corporate life, and in particular, to make special provisions for studies in tribal life and culture and for integrated courses of Science, Commerce and Humanities in the educational programmes of the University and take appropriate measures for promoting inter-disciplinary studies and research in the University. Being the highest and noblest seat of learning, the University provides effective leadership in guiding education and promoting research work in various fields and also endeavour to promote study of vocational subjects with a view to providing employment opportunities to the students. Affiliated Colleges There are three degree colleges affiliated Under the MBB University. They are: 1. Maharaja Bir Bikram College 2. Bir Bikram Memorial College 3. Tripura Govt. Law College MBB University Application Process All eligible candidates are required to collect the application form from the Administrative Block of Maharaja Bir Bikram University by depositing a fee of Rs. 100 for General Category candidates and Rs. 50 for SC/ST/PWD candidates. MBB University Admission Process Candidates are selected for admission to various courses in MBB University on the basis of merit list prepared by the university as per their marks obtained in the last qualifying examination.
